Can a Homeschool Student Apply to Universities in Europe?
Homeschooling itself is not the whole admissions question
European admissions offices usually care about recognized qualifications, subject preparation and evidence of academic readiness. A homeschool transcript can be useful, but some systems place more weight on external credentials such as AP exams, IB results or dual-enrollment coursework.
Requirements differ by country
Germany is a clear example: DAAD states that a U.S. high school diploma alone is generally not sufficient for direct admission. In the Netherlands, the institution sets its own admission requirements and makes the final qualification decision. UK universities publish course-specific entry requirements.
Plan early
Identifying likely countries and degree subjects before the final high-school year gives the student time to add APs, advanced coursework or other evidence if required.
